John H. Cox - President & Managing Member
John H. Cox is the sole shareholder and president of Equity Property Management, L.L.C. Mr. Cox is a native of the Chicago area and has been involved in advising real estate investors and syndicates for the past 28 years. Mr. Cox received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduating with honors in 1976. He is a 1980 graduate of IIT/Chicago Kent-College of Law, graduating with high honors. Mr. Cox is a CPA and is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Massachusetts.

From January 1977 to January 1980, Mr. Cox was a tax specialist and supervising tax specialist at the office of Coopers & Lybrand in Chicago during which time he helped perform tax advisory services for many major Coopers & Lybrand clients, many of which were in the real estate industry. In January of 1980, Mr. Cox joined the Chicago law firm of Krupp & Miller. While at this firm, Mr. Cox participated in arranging the financing for Playboy Enterprises, Inc., Atlantic City Casino as well as participating in securities law matters.

In January of 1981, Mr. Cox formed his own law firm, John H. Cox & Associates Ltd., now known as Cox, Oakes & Associates Ltd., and has been involved in this practice for the past 28 years. During this time, Mr. Cox has represented several local real estate syndicates, performing legal (tax and securities) and accounting for private partnership offerings involving properties worth over100 million dollars.


Kevin J. Donohoe - Executive Vice President
Kevin J. Donohoe has been involved in real estate for the past 20 years. Mr. Donohoe is a graduate of University College Cork, Ireland and came to the United States in 1984. Mr. Donohoe began his real estate career in 1989 working for cooperative and condominium managers and developers in New York City and its environs. In 1996 he received his Registered Apartment Manager (RAM) designation from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA)
and in 1997 his Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

In 2000 Mr. Donohoe took a position as a Senior Asset Manager at Sentinel Real Estate Corp. In 2002 Mr. Donohoe was promoted to Vice President of Asset Management and managed a portfolio of 7,500 Class A units in the west coast states. Mr. Donohoe left Sentinel in 2005 to become Senior Vice President at Village Green Companies. Mr. Donohoe's portfolio at Village Green was headquartered in Chicago. The portfolio was comprised of 14,000 apartments in 40 properties in twelve states.

Mr. Donohoe joined Equity Property Management L.L.C. in June 2008 as Executive Vice President and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Property Management Company as well as acquisitions, dispositions and senior asset management functions. In December 2008, Mr. Donohoe received the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from IREM.

 
Roger A. Merritt - Regional Property Manager
Roger Merritt has over 20 years of hands-on experience in every phase of property management. Mr. Merritt has worked extensively in the mid-west and on the west coast for some of the country's most successful management companies. Mr. Merritt is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Indiana and has received the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) designation from the National Apartment Association. Mr. Merritt is Risk Management Certified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (O.S.H.A.). Roger Merritt is responsible for the day-to-day management and operational issues that arise in the EPM portfolio.
 
Scott Wisler - Controller
Scott Wisler has worked in the Chicago-area real estate community his entire professional career. A graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette; Scott proceeded to work with some of the most prestigious names in the international real estate world including CB Richard Ellis, Insignia ESG, and most recently Prime Group Realty Trust before joining Equity Property Management L.L.C. in March, 2010. Scott developed a mind for improving and automating processes during his tenure with these companies.

As EPM's Controller, Scott is responsible for the overall accounting, reporting, and cash management of EPM's entire portfolio as well as constantly evaluating and improving EPM's operating procedures. It is Scott's technological knowledge base coupled with his accounting background that will facilitate EPM's to move to the forefront of the residential property management field.
Julie R. Schaap - Senior Accountant
Julie Schaap received her BS degree in Accounting from Perdue University in 2005. Ms. Schaap joined the Equity Property Management team in April of 2006. Julie is currently responsible for property accounting and financial reporting for nine of the properties under management. Julie is also EPM's Payroll Supervisor and Human Resources generalist. Julie is currently pursuing her CPA License.
Carolyn S. Elders - Executive Property Manager
Carolyn Elders has been with EPM for over six years. Ms. Elders is a Perdue alumni and is a licensed real estate salesperson. Carolyn began her career with EPM working as a leasing consultant in the Merrillville portfolio. Early in 2007 Carolyn accepted the position of Property Manager at Woodfield Heights apartments in Waukesha, WI. In September 2008 Carolyn was promoted to Castleton Manor in Indianapolis as the manager of EPM's largest property under management at that time (220 apartments). In April 2009 Carolyn was promoted to Executive Property Manager taking on supervisory responsibility for Parkview and Columbus Crossings Townhomes (182 apartments combined) in Columbus, IN, in addition to her job as Property Manager at Castleton Manor.
